What is your favorite kind of pie? Today we made pumpkin pie! First we had to mix the filling. We used a whisk. Then we had to put the filling in the pie crust. The last step was to put the whipped cream on top.  Then we ate it. YUM!

The morning class also spent some time playing outside.

The afternoon class played in the kitchen area and dressed up for a feast.

Miss Diane also read a book about preparing a feast.  We had to count the different kinds of foods for the feast; three chickens, seven carrots, eight tomatoes, nine potatoes, etc.
It was a foody day!

We talked more about Thanksgiving today and worked on our handprint turkeys (a classic).
In the morning class we played a game where we used a twister mat and some large, colored circles to practice naming our colors. We explored at the sensory table (it's filled with rice now), and played with playdough.  Then we went outside to spend some time with Miss Kathy's class.

In the afternoon we marched in our parade (as you've probably guessed by now, it's a favorite) and then we heard a story about how the turkey got his colorful tail. It involved a turkey who got very creative with some paint he found in the the farmyard. Then some of us played "Lucky Ducks" to practice naming colors.
Snack today was apples and crackers.

Hello all! We had a very busy day today in the morning.  We started with books and puzzles and then we started circle time.  We marched in a parade and then played musical chairs.  When the music stops we sit down and then we take turns asking our neighbor, "What color is your chair?" and then answering, "My chair is _____."  The sensory table is now filled with rice and we worked on the concepts "empty" and "full." Also, some of us got to play "Lucky Ducks" with Miss Diane which is a game to help us learn our colors. We got to play outside for a few minutes and then snack was watermelon and Ritz crackers. No pictures in the AM because the camera batteries were dead, but after a run to Office Max at lunch, we were good to go in the PM class.

In the afternoon we played a listening game where we had to follow two-part, unrelated directions such as, "Put the green frog on the red circle and then clap 5 times." Wow! That's a lot of information but we all did great!

We also finished our Thanksgiving turkeys. They will be coming home soon.  We had watermelon and Ritz in the afternoon, too. YUM!

Hi Everyone.  We had a great day today.  In the morning class today we sang our songs and then we played a game using a big and small pumpkin.  We had to listen very carefully to Miss Diane as she gave us two-step directions like, "Pick up the small pumpkin and put it behind Miss Bobby." It was tricky but we did great! We also listened to our story, "Orange Pumpkin, Orange Pumpkin, What Do You See?" We are getting very good at predicting what comes next in the story. Then we colored feathers so we can make our colorful Thanksgiving turkeys.  We also played with orange playdough and had a little free time.  Snack today was applesauce and we drank it with a straw.  It was fun.

In the afternoon we also played a game with pumpkins but the directions were a little longer like, "Pick up two little pumpkins and put one in front of Miss Julie and one behind Miss Calon." We had to be very good listeners. We got to march in our parade with musical instruments and then we also colored feathers.  Our snack was applesauce that we ate with a spoon and some apple straws.  Delicious!
