Today we started our new theme: The Market.
We have a farmer's market set up in the classroom with lots of fruit and vegetables to choose from. There are shopping carts and wagons to put the produce in and cash registers at the check-out. When we clean up we sort the produce by color into plastic and fabric bins.
Our sensory table is now filled with cornmeal. It is fun to dig down into it and find the farm animals that are hiding.
We played some fun games today. In the morning we played, "What's Missing?" Miss Diane put out 4 fruits to look at. Then we closed our eyes and she took one away. When we opened our eyes we had to guess which one Miss Diane took.
In the afternoon we played an association game. Miss Julie gave everyone a card and then we matched it with a card on the sentence strip. We had pairs like peanut butter and jelly, salt and pepper, and french fries and ketchup.
We also had fun dancing.
For snack we had crackers, bell peppers, and ranch dip.
