Anyone need a shave or a haircut? We are becoming hair care experts! Today we sequenced a four-part story about a man going to a barber shop. He decided that his beard and mustache were too itchy so he asked the barber to give him a shave.

Then we started our grass heads. We put grass seeds and soil in an old nylon stocking and tied it closed. We added a face and watered it and soon we will be growing and trimming grass hair.

 

 



 

We also experimented more with shaving cream. Some of us drew shapes with it. Some of us wrote numbers and letters with it. Some of us wore it.

There was also a little bit of time to march in a parade, paint at the easel, put together some puzzles, and play with toys.

 

Snack today was peaches and animal crackers in the morning and grapes, peaches, and animal crackers in the afternoon.

 



Hello and happy Tuesday! What a fun day we had today. We started the day with puzzles and books and then we sorted our names by favorite color.

During circle time we sang some songs like "Wheels on the Bus" and "Humpty Dumpty." Then Miss Julie read a silly book called "Franny B. Kranny, There's a Bird in Your Hair." It was about a girl who didn't like her new hairdo until a bird made it her nest.

Next, it was time for a trip to Miss Julie's Barber Shop.  Some of us shaved our faces and some of us shaved our legs. We all smelled good afterward.

 

 

 

During centers we visited the barber shop, played with toys, made a collage with glycerin soap and potpourri, painted at the easel, and explored at the rice table.

 

 

 

Snack today was rice cakes and raspberries in the morning and animal crackers and raspberries in the afternoon.
