Can you still have fun without the parade? Yes, you can.  Look at all the things we did today. In the morning class we sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" while we rocked in the wooden boat. Rocking, just like swinging, is a great sensory activity that helps develop the proprioceptive system.

We learned a nursery rhyme today called "Hickory Dickory Dock." We each got to take turns making the mouse run up and down a big clock and a little clock.

Then we went outside to play.

After our snack of crackers and pears we listened to a story about a snowman.

In the afternoon we also learned "Hickory Dickory Dock" and then had to follow directions like, "Put the mouse with brown ears between the tall clock and the short clock."

The mouse is between the clocks.

Jimmy is between the girls

We listened to a story about winter colors. We quickly learned the pattern and helped Miss Diane read.  We will be bringing our own copies home soon.
At center time we painted, played with the white, jiggly stuff, and worked on our books.

In the afternoon we also had pears and crackers for snack. Yum.

We started our Winter Clothing Unit today. We read "The Jacket I Wear in the Snow," and discussed all the different kinds of clothes we can wear in the winter to help keep us warm: hats, scarves, mittens, long underwear, sweaters, etc.

After reading our story, we sang some songs.  The morning class sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and rowed with a partner.  The afternoon class learned "Frosty the Snowman."

Then we made a pattern using items of winter clothing.  In the morning we made a pattern using hats and scarves (not bacon, as some thought), and in the afternoon we used hats, scarves, and mittens.

We had a little time to play.  We still have our white, jiggly glop to play with and oatmeal in the sensory table. We also had some time to play in the camping area.
