Today we continued our winter theme and talked about snowmen. We played a game during circle time where we built snowmen out of felt. In the morning class we had to follow directions like, "Put the big hat on the big snowman," and "Put the medium-sized scarf on the medium-sized snowman." In the afternoon I tried to trick the kids by giving mixed-up directions like, "Put the big hat on the little snowman," and "Put the little nose on the big hat," but I couldn't fool anyone! Everyone did a great job listening! We also sorted our name cards. In the morning we sorted them into two groups: girls and boys. In the afternoon we sorted by our favorite colors.
Then we made snowmen out of paper. We had to put the big circle on the bottom, the medium-sized circle in the middle, and the little circle on top. Then we added a hat, a face, and some arms. Those will go home in backpacks a little later. We also had time to play at the sensory table in the oatmeal. We worked on different concepts like "full," "empty," "all gone," "in," and "out," and on different verbs like "stirring," "pouring," and "scooping."
And, of course, we are still camping.

In the morning our snack was grapes and gluten-free popcorn (Thanks, Xavier!) and in the afternoon the snack was grapes and apple straws.
