Today was "Thinking Thursday" because we had to really use our thinking caps today.
We started off with some favorite songs like "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."

Look out! Here comes a shark!

Then we played "What's Missing?" Today Miss Diane added more pets to the mix and sometimes took away two pets instead of just one.  We also had to follow directions like "Give me the small turtle and the big dog." We had to be very careful listeners!

In the morning we also played a game where we had to find the dog bone. We had to guess whether it was under the blue dog bowl or the red dog bowl.

Then we had some time for imaginative play in the pet shop.

Snack today was pineapple tidbits, strawberries, and crackers.

Wow!
We had a great day today!
We started our pet store unit today.
First, we sorted our names by the kind of pets we have at home: a dog, a cat, a fish, or none.
Then we played a couple of games.  The first game was called "What lives here?"
Miss Julie showed everyone some pictures including a bird cage, a dog house, a fish bowl, a rabbit hutch, etc., and then asked, "What lives here?"
Then Miss Diane played "What's Missing?" She put three pets on the floor, covered them with a blanket, and then took one away. We had to guess which one was missing.

Next, we made the first letter of our names by tracing the letter with glue and then sprinkling on rice.

We also have rice in the sensory table.

Then, we played in the pet shop.

Snack today was Craisins, cantaloupe, and animal crackers.

We had a very busy Thursday. Miss Melani came today (she usually comes on Wednesday) and she had a very fun obstacle course for us to complete.  We had to hop like bunnies, crawl through tunnels, and then get into and out of a big box.

In the morning we played a game with circles and had to follow directions like, "Point to the red circle," and "Give me the red and the blue circle." We also sorted our names by age.

Both classes worked on self portraits.  In the morning we focused on our faces and in the afternoon we drew our whole body.

During play time we painted, played at the sensory table, worked at the writing table, and played with the horses.

Snack today was watermelon and animal crackers.
