Hi everyone. We are still a little short staffed so I wasn't able to get many pictures today but I got a few and I will tell you all about the things we did.
Both classes started with books and puzzles and then sang songs during circle time. The morning class jumped over a candle stick and then used rhythm sticks to tap out the ABC's, our numbers, and Humpty Dumpty. The afternoon class marched in a parade, sang "The Wheels on the Bus," and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
Then both classes helped sequence pictures that showed how to make a pizza. First you mix the dough. Next you roll out the dough into a big flat circle. Then you put on the toppings. Last, you put the pizza in the oven to bake.
When it was center time we glued cotton balls onto a pink rabbit to make it soft and white. We had fun filling and emptying plastic eggs with pompoms and plastic animals at the sensory table.
And we also played with air clay and cut out different spring shapes with cookie cutters. Snack today was strawberries and animal crackers.

Well, surprise!! I'm updating the blog on Wednesday this week. To cover for staffing shortages I flipped my schedule around this week so that I was in Diane's room today and will be in Kathy's room tomorrow (Thursday).
We started the day as usual with books, puzzles, and songs. In the morning class we sang "Wheels on the Bus," and then used rhythm sticks to tap out our ABC's, numbers, and "Humpty Dumpty."

In the afternoon class we listened to "March Around the Alphabet," and we matched letters on the ABC rug to the letters on our beanbags.
Both classes learned a new game today called "Cat, Cat, Dog." It's really just "Duck, Duck, Goose," but we changed the name to match the pattern strip that we worked on today.

The afternoon class also got to go through the obstacle course that our physical therapist, Miss Melani, sets up for us. We had to balance, crawl, jump, and roll.

Both classes worked on patterning today. The morning class made an AB pattern using dog and cat stamps (dog, cat, dog, cat) and the afternoon class made an AAB pattern (cat, cat, dog, cat, cat, dog).
Then it was free choice time. Some of us played with the green moon sand, some played with toys, and some visited the pizza shop.

Snack today was oranges and rice cakes in the morning and oranges and wheat crackers in the afternoon.

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful break! We got right back into the swing of things today. We started off with books and puzzles. We are seeing children progressing to more difficult puzzles and we are seeing some very nice cooperation during puzzle time.

In the morning class we sang a song about moving our bodies forward, backward, and side to side. Then we did some fun dancing. We also played "What's Missing?" Miss Diane put out three dogs today and then secretly took one away. We had to figure out which dog was missing.

In the afternoon class we listened to a song called "March Around the Alphabet" and we got to match letters on a beanbag with letters on the rug. We also sang "Wheels on the Bus."
Both classes got to count dog bones and put numbered bones in order.

There was also a little time to play and enjoy our last day working in the pet clinic.

Snack today was cupcakes and apples in the morning and Craisins and crackers in the afternoon.
