Have you ever wondered what you would look like with a mustache? How about green hair? We got to find out today at school.

We also sorted our names by age today and made paper plate faces with Miss Bobbi. We looked in a mirror to make sure we got the color of our eyes and hair correct.

Then it was free choice. Some of us visited the salon. Some of us played with other toys.

Wow. She looks fabulous!
Then Miss Diane read a book called "This is my Hair." It was silly.

Snack today was bananas and cookies.

Today Miss Diane opened her new hair salon. We will spend the next few weeks learning all kinds of new words and concepts related to hair care such as: long, short, straight, curly, brush, comb, cut, shampoo, braid, bald, beard, mustache, rinse, mirror, and shave. If you are looking for a fun way to follow up with some of these concepts at home, you can download the Toca Hair Salon 2 onto your phone for $2.99.
Today after books and puzzles we did a sequencing activity with Miss Julie. First, we listened to a story about a girl getting her hair cut.  Then Miss Julie mixed up the cards and we had to put them back in order.

The morning class sang more songs about body parts and things that our hands can do. Did you know that hands can be creepy like spiders and wavy like the ocean?

Then it was center time.  We practiced cutting with scissors. It is fun to cut playdough into pieces and it lets us practice holding the scissors properly. We have a little rhyme to help us remember how to hold our scissors:
Thumb in the thumb hole
Fingers all together
Thumb goes up
Cut, cut, cut!

The morning class also worked on an AB pattern using boy and girl shapes and then Miss Bobbi helped us trace our bodies on a big sheet of paper.

The afternoon class got a special treat today. After five long years of waiting, the preschool playground equipment was finally moved from CDO's north campus to Copper Creek (a big thank you to the parents who helped make this happen). So we went out and PLAYED! We went up and down stairs, through tunnels, and down slides.

Snack today was goldfish crackers and raisins.

We are wrapping up our beach theme tomorrow. We had a lot of fun and learned many new words (goggles, shovel, bucket, umbrella, etc.) and concepts (wet, dry, sink, float, bigger, smaller, etc.)
Today we started the day by sorting our names according to our favorite colors.
Then we sang some songs.

Miss Julie is going on a trip to the beach but she wasn't sure what to pack. We helped her out.

Miss Diane played a fun memory game called "What's Missing?" We closed our eyes and Miss Diane would take away a shell. When we opened our eyes we had to figure out which shell was missing. Sometimes it was two!

We went outside for a bit and played in the sand with our beach toys but then it started to rain so we went back inside. That was okay because there is so much to do inside.

Here are some pictures from yesterday when we got to play on Miss Melani's obstacle course. We had to walk heel-to-toe on a very thin strip of grass. Then we went under two hurdles and then over a very squishy bridge.

Snack today was raspberries and goldfish crackers.
