Today was a musical day! Both classes sang many different songs today. In the morning class we sang "Wheels on the Bus" and we played musical chairs. When you play musical chairs in Miss Diane's class it is also a language activity. You ask your neighbor, "What color is your chair?" and then when it's your turn to respond you say, "My chair is _______."

In the afternoon class we sang a song about Sammy and all the different ways that he could go to the store; he could swim, hop, fly, or even crawl. We tried all of them. We also sang "Wheels on the Bus."
I could crawl to the store

The doors on the bus go open and shut

The driver on the bus says, "Move on back."

The people on the bus go bumpity bump.

We also practiced sequencing our barber shop story today. We are also working on our own copies of the story that we will be bringing home soon.

During center time we explored the rice in the sensory table, painted at the easel, squished playdough, and worked on sentences that tell whether we are boys or girls.

We had some free choice time today and Miss Julie and Miss Diane are very pleased at the language that we are hearing at play time. We are hearing kind words like "please" and "thank you" as well as questions like, "Can I play?"  Good job, everyone! Also, we are doing well learning the barber shop vocabulary. See if you can reinforce some of the concepts at home. Can you find things that are curly and straight? Hair, noodles, even tails can be curly or straight. Also, look for things that are long and things that are short.

Snack today was pears and animal crackers.
