Hello everyone and happy new year. We got right down to work today with books and puzzles. Many of us have moved on to more difficult floor puzzles with 48 or more pieces. Sometimes we put them together by ourselves and sometimes we ask a friend to help.
During circle time we sang songs like "Five Little Monkeys," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," and "Old McDonald." In the morning class we played Pass the Beanbag. We passed it quickly and slowly.
Next, we helped Miss Julie build a snowman. We had to listen carefully to directions so we knew how to build him. Then we watched him melt.
During center time we used paper mittens to make patterns. In the morning class we made an AB pattern. In the afternoon we made an AABB pattern.
We have "snow" in the sensory table and our theme for the next few weeks is "Camping with Bears." We have a tent, lanterns, camp stoves, sleeping bags, and of course, bears.
Miss Julie read a story today called "The Snowy Day." It was about a boy named Peter and the things he did in the snow. He climbed up hills and then slid down. He whacked a tree with a stick and snow fell on his head. He even built a snowman and made snow angels.
Snack today was bananas, pretzels, and dried blueberries.
